Care

How to wash your rug

Every Rugpop rug is machine washable at home. Shake it out, wash cold on a gentle cycle, air dry or tumble low, and lay it flat. It dries in about four hours and comes back like new.

01

Shake it out

Take the rug outside and shake off loose dirt, crumbs, and pet hair. A quick vacuum on low works too.

02

Machine wash cold

Fold it loosely and wash on a cold, gentle cycle with mild detergent. No bleach, no fabric softener. Rugpop rugs fit a standard home washer.

03

Air dry or tumble low

Hang to air dry, or tumble dry on low heat. It dries in about four hours. Avoid high heat, which can stress the backing over time.

04

Lay it flat

Lay the rug back down flat. The non-slip backing grips again right away, no pad needed. Any curling relaxes within a day.

Do

  • Wash cold on a gentle cycle
  • Use mild liquid detergent
  • Air dry or tumble dry low
  • Spot-treat spills quickly with cold water

Don’t

  • Use bleach or fabric softener
  • Wash hot or dry on high heat
  • Dry clean or steam clean
  • Wring or twist the rug hard

Common questions

Can I really machine wash it at home? +

Yes. Every Rugpop rug is designed for a standard home washing machine. Fold it loosely, wash cold on gentle, and you are done. No special equipment.

How do I get a stain out? +

For fresh spills, blot with cold water first, then machine wash cold. The stain-resistant chenille face releases most stains, including red wine, coffee, and mud, in a normal wash.

Will washing fade the colors? +

No. The print is engineered to hold its color through 50+ washes. Wash cold and avoid bleach and high heat to keep it looking new the longest.

What about the non-slip backing? +

The rubberized backing is washer and dryer safe on low heat. It keeps gripping the floor wash after wash, so you never need a separate rug pad.
